The 25th record flight of the Anguity Helicopter to Mars

NASA’s Anguity Helicopter completes its 25th flight to Mars.

A helicopter flew over Mars to execute an engineering team’s plan at NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory.

During the flight, the helicopter covered a distance of 704 meters at a speed of 5.5 meters per second and surveyed the dry river delta in Jezero pit.

This new record-breaking flight was longer than Ingenuity’s first flight on April 19, 2021. In the first flight, the helicopter flew for 30 seconds.

The previous longest flight was on July 5, 2021, when the helicopter covered a distance of 625 meters.

Ingenuity landed on the surface of Mars.

Ingenuity landed on the surface of Mars for the first time on February 18, 2021, aboard NASA’s Presence Rover.

After the helicopter’s first flight to another planet, scientists did not believe it would last that long.

Ingenuity has acted as an air guide for the rover to explore the Jezero Pit.

Regarding this area, scientists believe that there was water in the past and this pit could find traces of life on Mars if there were ever life on this planet.
