The life of Hazrat Muhammad (S.A.W)

The last prophet of God and founder of Islam.

The pre-Islam period of Arabia is known as the age of ignorance, because of social, religious, and political disorder that was common in Arabs before Islam. Arabia had fallen into the belief in multiple gods, and they worshiped idols. Kaba housed 360 idols. They believed in angels as daughters of Allah and did not accept the concept of the Day of Judgment. The society engaged in vices such as gambling and drinking, while women had no rights in property or inheritance. The birth of a daughter was considered shameful, leading to the practice of burying daughters alive. There was no government or legal system in place. Arabs had mostly desert areas so the Arabian people depended on trade none of agriculture.

The early life of Prophet Muhammad (P.B.U.H.):

Hazrat Muhammad (S.A.W) was born at 12th Of Rabi-ul-Awwal in 571 A.D Makkah (Saudi Arab). He belongs to a respectable and noble family Bani-Hashim tribe of Quraish. His father’s name was Abdullah and his mother was BIBI Amina.  before he came into the world His father had died and his mother died when Hazrat Muhammad (S.A.W) age was six years old. His grandfather, Abdul Muttalib, known as a generous man, brought him up. Later, his uncle Abu Talib took on the responsibility. According to Arab tradition, when the Holy Prophet Muhammad (P.B.U.H) was born, Halima Sadia (R.A) nursed and took good care of the child. She belonged to the tribe Bani-saad.

The Hazrat Muhammad (S.A.W) grew up strong and healthy. He learns to speak the pure Arabic language. when the prophet (S.A.W) was about four years an angel Jibrail (A.S) came and his chest opened then washed his heart.

When Halima Sadia came to know about that incident. she took the prophet (S.A.W) and returned his mother. His mother took him to Madinah to visit the grave of his father Abdullah. when they were coming back on their Journey, she fell ill and died at the place of Abwa. She was buried there. The Holy Prophet Muhammad (P.B.U.H) was only six years old at that time.

The year prophet Muhammad (S.A.W) was born is known as the year of Elephant Because of its miraculous story was the fall of Abraha’s army who wanted to destroy the Makkah by the army of an elephant. He wanted to shift to the Kaba center of Sana’a. When he reached the Makkah, he faced Abdul-Muttalib. Abdul-Muttalib was known as a kind and generous man. He was a monotheist and hated the idol worship. Abraha said to Abdul-Muttalib you have lost my respect so my army of elephants would destroy your city or house of your God. Abdul Muttalib replied bravely and said that God will protect the Kaba. God has not needed the help of any person for the safety of his city. So therefore the army of birds flew from the sky. The birds were thrown a stone at Abraha’s army and defeated them. So God had protected the holy Kaba.

Hazrat Muhammad (P.B.U.H) grew up as a brilliant and gorgeous man. Everyone trusted him due to his reliability and honesty. The prophet Muhammad (S.A.W) loved the children and played with them, cheering them up whenever they were lonely. Muhammad (S.A.w) never harmed any creature of Allah. He helped needy people and fed the hungry. He also took care of animals well. When the holy prophet( P.B.U.H)’s age was 12th years old, he learned to do trading system from his uncle Abu Talib and went with his uncle on a business journey later on Hazrat Muhammad (S.A.W) started his own business. He was a very hard-working young man. All the people of Makkah respected him. He believed in one God. People in Mecca recognized Hazrat Muhammad (S.A.W) for his honesty, as they called him Saadiq (the truthful) and Al-Ameen (the trustworthy). As he grew older, his friends and other people became well-acquainted with his good manners.

A rich widow from Makkah, named Khadija, heard about the honesty and truthfulness of Prophet Muhammad (P.B.U.H). She offered him to go to Syria for her business. When the prophet came back he gave her for every dirham’s account properly. Hazrat Bibi Khadija (R.A) was completely impressed with him. Every tribe particularly in Makkah has praised him. He won the heart of Khadija (R.A) who was a very pretty and rich widower. She sent a proposal of marriage to Hazrat Muhammad (S.A.W). He cobbled with his uncle Abu-Talib as a mark of respect and accepted the proposal. The holy prophet (P.B.U.H) was twenty-five years old and Khadija (R.A) was forty years. Holy Prophet(S.A.W) had four daughters and two sons. His sons passed away in childhood. After prophethood, he had ten other wives.

After the marriage with Khadija(R.A ), the holy prophet (P.B.U.H) felt that he did not need to earn his livelihood, due to the bad customs of society. He left the public and started to go into a cave Hira. Where he spent long hours. When the holy prophet (P.B.U.H) was forty years old, he was as usual in a cave then an angel Gabriel (A.S) appeared in the cave and asked him to read but Hazrat Muhammad (S.A.W) said to him that he could not, read so the angel tightly squeezed him and left him to saying same words, to read he said again that he cannot read the angel again the holy prophet (S.A.W) press firmly in his arm and asked him to read but his same Ans he cannot read. Now, for the third time, the angel pressed firmly on his arm and instructed him to read in the name of the Lord, reciting the five verses. After delivering this message, the angel disappeared, revealing to him that he was the prophet, and Muhammad (S.A.W) informed Hazrat Khadija (R.A) that the entire event had transpired in the cave. She consoled him and accompanied him to a Christian scholar, Warqa-bin-no fil, who affirmed that Muhammad (S.A.W) was the messenger of Allah.

The holy prophet(P.B.U.H) and his companions were tortured and insulted in every possible way by the people of Makkah. When the Quraish of Makkah continued their torture of Muslims, The holy prophet (S.A.W) ordered Muslims to migrate to Abyssinia. then they migrated to Madina but Quraish of Makkah continued to tease even here. At last, he declared war against them. The Muslims conquered Makkah and began to spread the teachings of Islam.
